Crispy Corn Dogs Recipe
Ingredients:
10 pieces of frankfurters; pat dry
1 cup of Flour
1-1/2 teaspoon of baking powder (Calumet)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3 Tablespoons of shortening
2 Tablespoons of cornmeal (yellow)
1 piece of beaten egg (large)
3/4 cup of milk (whole)
Oil (for frying)
Instructions:
Combine cornmeal, flour, Calumet, salt, and sugar inside a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of shortening; cut using the fork till it seems like crumbs. Combine milk and egg inside a bowl; add onto the flour mixture and incorporate well. Dip the franks onto the batter, coating them well. Fry till golden. Insert (wooden) skewers onto each end. Serve at once with the mustard on the side.
